Houryu-ji, built in 607, is the oldest building made of wood in the world. It was registered is a Cultural World Heritage in 1993. It's one of the most famous and beautiful temples in Japan.

Houryu-ji, also named "Ikaruga-temple," is the head temple of Seitoku-shu(Seitoku sect.)
It contains many buddhist statues and beautiful articrafts from the Asuka and Nara era, which have tremendous cultural importance.

1)Walk 20 minutes from Houryu-ji station(JR line), Get on bus which heads to "Houryuuji monzen(法隆寺門前)," get off at "Houryuuji monzen" stop
2)Arrive at "Ouji" station(JR line), Get on bus which heads to "Kasuga Taisha・Nara(春日大社・奈良)," Get off at "Teramae(寺前)" station
3)Arrive at Nara station(Kintetsu line), Get on bus heading for either "JR Ouji(王寺)Station" or "Houryu-ji(法隆寺)," Get off at "Houryu-ji" stop

Many buildings inside the temple area is registered as a national treasure, such as this "Yume-dono," which means "room of dreams."
