Explore the filming locations of the adolescent drama “Koinaka” in Toyama Prefecture

A Fuji TV’s Monday 9 O’clock Drama titled “Koinaka” was aired in 2015. It is an adolescent story of Aoi (played by Mr. Sota Fukushi) and Akari (played by Ms. Tsubasa Honda), in Toyama Prefecture. There were also other well-known actors in it. Thanks to the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line, Toyama became very accessible from Tokyo, and many scenes of the TV drama were filmed there. Today, I am going to introduce those locations.

When Aoi is getting frustrated because of the slow progress of himself on the job, he meets his old classmate, Shota, who transferred to his high school from Tokyo. [Hamakurosaki Beach]
This is the place where Aoi runs in a suit and Aoi and Shota have conversation in the first episode. There are a windbreak grove of black pine trees and a camping ground at this beach. From here, you can see the Tateyama Mountain Range in the distance, which looks really beautiful with the morning sunlight. In summer, many families visit here for sea bathing.

[The riverbank of the Shiraiwa River]
Here, the scene where Kohei who loves Akari’s little sister, suffering from a broken heart, tries to dive in to the river and Aoi and Shota help him, and another scene where Aoi and Akari on a bicycle were filmed. The Shiraiwa River is a river, 24.6-km long, running through Toyama Pref. from the valleys in Mt. Otsuji and Mt. Takamine to Toyama Bay. At the lower courses of the river, many people who enjoy fishing or strolling along the river can be seen.
